Preparing your 3rd year

This page is a checklist of items to consider as soon as you have been admitted to SDI-M.

  1. Business master IAE is specific and requires early registration before summer. So if you are interested, you should take you decision now. See here for further information. Registration to other masters (computer science, mathematics) can be decided at the beginning of the school year in September.
  2. Metz campus has its own student residence just a stone’s throw from the school. If interested, book a room as soon as possible. See here for further information.
  3. We expect our students to be operational in the use of Unix tools (terminal, git, …) by the start of the academic year. We provide self-studies) here to train you in these tools or, at least, to make sure you have the required know-how.
  4. In particular, the C++ programming course launched just after the start of the academic year, does not include any lectures, but only labworks. To enable you to assimilate the online material, we strongly recommend that you have already completed the C++ self-studies before the start of the school year.
  5. We also expect students to have basic knowledge of probability theory and statistics typically taught in an introductory course in an engineering program (1st year of engineering school, L3, bachelor). If you would like to revise or acquire these concepts, numerous handouts or lecture notes are available online, including, for example these French lecture nodes or English ones, both suggested as they are a good compromise, not too long, not too short.
