The CEI is a project in which an industrial partner pays for the supervision carried out by the teachers of CentraleSupélec. The CEIs are a source of funding for the school, and allow students to work in relation with a company and its current engineering issues.

As for PFEs, students are supervised by their professors and work at CentraleSupélec. The relationship with the partner consists of several work meetings where students report on their progress and discuss the different scientific options to be pursued to carry out the project.

For the industrial partner, it is often a question of using the study and the skills of CentraleSupélec to explore new ideas, which gives the study a strong R&D flavor.
